Packing Tips For Your Move

If you’re planning to pack some of your items independently, we recommend helpful tips to make the packing process easier and quicker.

  • Stuffing paper at the bottom of boxes will act as a cushion for anything inside
  • Anything fragile or loose should be wrapped in paper
  • If there's space left inside the box when it's packed, stuff that space with paper
  • When the box is done and packed and all taped up, you should be able to move the box without anything moving on the inside
  • If you're not using a tape gun, fold over the very edge of the tape onto itself after using it. It'll help you find the edge of the tape again when you want to use it next
  • Two strips of tape on the bottom of the boxes are enough to hold most things. Heavy boxes should have three strips of tape to secure the bottom
  • Plates and bowls should be loaded (wrapped in paper) on their sides. Glasses should be packed upright
